This promotion is valid until 31 January 2017 while online registration should be done not more than 14 days after your purchase. How do I claim my eftpos Gift Card?

1.   Purchase an eligible Sony camera or lens from a participating Sony Australia Authorised Dealer between 1st December 2016 and 31st January 2017.

How many products can I claim?

Multiple claims are permitted, however each claimant and/or household will be limited to claim up to a maximum of 12 total products as outlined below:

  • up to three (3) eligible Handycam products in total;
  • up to three (3) eligible Action Camera products in total;
  • up to three (3) eligible Cyber-shot products in total; and
  • only one (1) eligible ILC camera body and up to two (2) x eligible lenses in total

Only one (1) valid claim is permitted per Eligible Product purchased (i.e. per product serial number and/or store invoice issued) and a valid proof of purchased must accompany each Eligible Product.

A maximum of three (3) Eligible Products can be submitted per claim on the redemption website.

I bought my Sony Eligible Product/s before 1st December 2016. Can I still claim my eftpos Gift Card?

No, your purchase must be purchased between 1st December, 2016 and 31st January, 2017.

Can I purchase a Sony Eligible Product from any dealer?

No, to qualify for the eftpos Gift Card your eligible Sony Camera or Lenses must be purchased (excludes lay-by purchases) from a participating Sony Australia Authorised Dealer.

Duty free stores, eBay sellers, parallel import stores and second hand retailers are excluded from the promotion.

I purchased my Sony Eligible Products using Flexirent. Is this a valid purchase?

Yes. A claim can be made for a purchase using Flexirent as long as all other Terms and Conditions are adhered to.

I purchased my Sony Eligible Products from a Sony store. Do I need to register to claim?

Purchases made at Sony Kiosks (Chatswood, Parramatta & Castle Hill) or Sony Centre (Nunawading) will automatically receive your eftpos Gift Card at the point of purchase.

I purchased my Sony Eligible Products online from Sony Store Online. Do I need to register to claim my eftpos Gift Card?

No. You will be automatically registered for your eftpos Gift Card. Your gift card will be dispatched 2 - 6 weeks from the date you purchased your Camera or Lenses.

Do I need to have physically received my camera or the lenses I have purchased to claim my eftpos Gift Card?

Yes, as you will need to provide us with its serial number as well as upload a photograph of this on your product, when you make your claim. For the purchase to be eligible you must receive your Sony Camera/Lenses and register it online within 14 days of purchase and that purchase must be made between 1st December, 2016 - 31st January, 2017. These timings and the other terms and conditions must be adhered to for your claim to be valid.

What happens if the Sony Camera or lenses I order are out of stock?

You must make sure that the store you purchased your Sony Camera/Lenses from is able to have it delivered to your home address within the 14 day product registration period. Then you need to provide us with your completed claim form and a copy of the store register receipt as proof of purchase of the eligible Sony Camera or Lenses (including an eftpos or credit card transaction slip, unless paid in cash) and a photo of the serial number on the product within 14 days of registration. These timings and the other terms and conditions must be adhered to for your claim to be valid.

I am concerned my Sony Camera / Lenses have not been delivered yet and it is coming up to the 14 day registration cut-off date. What should I do?

Please contact the store you purchased the Cyber-shot Camera from and ask for a delivery update. If the date they give you is more than 14 days since the date of purchase, please call our contact center on 1300 137 669.

Can I register my purchase anytime during the promotional period?

No. You must register on this website sony.com.au/eftposgiftcard within 14 days of purchasing your product.

What are the proof of purchase documents?

To claim your eftpos Gift Card, you will need the following proof of purchase documents:

1.     Completed online claim form

2.     A copy of the store register receipt as proof of purchase of the eligible Sony camera or lenses (Including an eftpos or credit card transaction slip, unless paid in cash)

No. A clear photocopy, image or scan of the store register receipt (Including an eftpos or credit card transaction slip unless paid in cash) will do.

Which receipt do I need to send?

Please attach a copy of your retail store purchase receipt that shows the model number of the Sony Camera or 2x lenses you purchased (Including an eftpos or credit card transaction slip unless paid in cash). The purchase receipt details must match the online registration details.

Where is the serial number I need to provide when registering my purchase?

You will find the serial number of the Cyber-shot Camera on both the product and its packaging.

I have made a mistake on my registration. What should I do?

Simply contact us on 1300 137 669, and we will update your registration for you. There is no need to register again.

Can I let my Sony Australia Authorised Dealer register for me?

No. You will need to register yourself to ensure we receive the correct information.

I do not have access to email or the internet is there another way for me to enter this promotion?

Unfortunately not, you will need to find a family member of friend who can do this for you on your behalf.

Do I need to do anything after I have registered on the website?

I have not received my registration email.

If you have submitted a claim but have not received an email, please do not be alarmed as your registration has almost certainly been received. Please check whether the email is in your Junk or Spam folder. I entered a different name on the online claim form, from the name shown on the receipt. Is this OK?

No, it is not. The name/entrant on the claim form must match the name on the receipt, in order to be eligible for this promotion. You must enter your correct legal name on the claim form.

What happens if I return my Sony Camera after registration?

Your claim will be invalid. Your return will not be accepted if you have already redeemed your eftpos Gift Card.

Can I use my eftpos Gift Card as soon as I receive it?

No, you will be required to activate your card prior to use.

How do I activate my eftpos Gift Card?

Claimants must refer to the instructions provided on the back of the card to activate. To activate the gift card, claimants must go online to www.activatemycard.com/sony. Claimants must enter their first name, last name, email address, claim code and card number as the requested details. Once activated, funds are available from 12pm the following business day.

How long do I have to activate the eftpos gift card?

The eftpos gift card must be activated within 3 months from the date of the issuing letter. Eftpos gift cards that have not been activated cannot be extended, replaced or refunded.

When will the eftpos Gift Card Expire?

The eftpos Gift Card is valid for twelve (12) months from the date of activation, after which time it will expire. Any unused funds cannot be recouped.

Can I withdraw cash from my eftpos Gift Card?

No. The eftpos Gift Card is only valid for purchases anywhere eftpos is accepted within Australia.

Where can I use my eftpos Gift Card?

Your eftpos Gift card can be used anywhere eftpos is accepted. Some merchants may choose not to accept the eftpos gift card. The eftpos Gift Card cannot be redeemed for cash, reloaded, returned for a refund, have their balances consolidated to a new gift card, or be replaced after expiry or have their value replaced after expiry and are not legal tender, account cards, credit or debit cards or securities.
