Sigma Introduces 14mm F1.8 with the 24-70mm F2.8 and the 135mm F1.8 ART Lenses

Sigma has just upgraded its ART Lens line by adding three new offerings: the 14mm f/1.8, the 24-70mm f/2.8 and the 135mm f/1.8. These lenses can be used with Canon, Nikon, and Sigma DSLR cameras.

Features of the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM ART Lens

Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM ART Lens

Tagged as the world’s first wide-angle f/1.8 lens, the 14mm DG HSM provides constant brightness without adjusting the camera’s ISO sensitivity. This allows the capturing of clearer images that combine a deep and shallow depth of field. Meanwhile, chromatic aberration is reduced by the three FLD glass elements and four Super Low Dispersion glasses which are fused inside the lens.

Likewise, its 80mm aspherical lens element minimizes image distortion to boost image brightness from the center to the edges. Ghosting and flaring is also reduced by its lens coating. On the other hand, its rounded diaphragm makes amazing out-of-focus effects possible. If you need to bring the lens closer to the subject, the 14mm f/1.8 ART has a minimum focusing distance of 0.27 m. The Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM ART Lens also features Fast AF with full-time manual override based on mount type.

Features of the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Lens

Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM Lens

Able to withstand harsh weather elements due to its metal composition, the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM can also resist contraction or expansion due to its thermally stable composite. Just like the 14mm, it also has a wide aperture which is perfect for out-of-focus effects. Meanwhile, the front lens element repels water and oil that can disrupt image quality.

Furthermore, this Sigma ART lens is fortified with three SLD glass lens elements and four aspherical lens elements to deal with aberrations. Despite accidental camera shaking, the images captured via this lens are kept sharp by the optical stabilizer. The 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM also has Fast AF with full-time manual focus. This lens also has an 82mm filter thread.

Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Lens

Finally, the Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Lens is the sixth full-frame prime lens under the Sigma ART Line. It gives superb resolution for images 50 megapixels and up by reducing chromatic aberrations and maintaining image quality. This large diameter lens can also inject amazing out-of-focus effects to each photograph thanks to its f/1.8 maximum aperture.

Built with a large hypersonic motor for fast and efficient focusing, it is also equipped with an acceleration sensor that detects lens orientation which allows the autofocus to adjust accordingly. This lens also has a focus limiter for a more responsive autofocus. The dust-proof and splash-proof Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Lens also has a floating focus mechanism and an 82mm filter thread.

Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Lens

Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Lens

In addition to the three new ART Lenses, Sigma is also unveiling the 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Lens. This telephoto zoom lens sports a bazooka-like design that is lighter than its counterparts. Equipped with an optical stabilizer to negate camera shake, this lens contains four Special Low Diversion glass lens elements to reduce chromatic aberration. The angle of view can also be easily adjusted via the push-pull zoom ring.

Though it is a telephoto zoom lens, it also has macro functionality with a minimum shooting distance of 160cm with 1:3.8 magnification. This lens is also equipped with Hypersonic Motor for fast Autofocus and a focus limiter. The Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM Lens also has nine diaphragm blades that can be used for out-of-focus effects.
