Samyang Unveils the 14mm F2.8 ED AS IF UMC and the 50mm F1.4 AS IF UMC Autofocus Lenses

After 40 years of producing high-quality camera lenses, Samyang has finally created two new ones with autofocus. This is a welcome development among photography enthusiasts as the 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC and the 50mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC are set to create a buzz among mirrorless camera owners.

Common Features of the Samyang 14mm f/2.8 AF and the 50mm f/1.4 AF

Compatible with mirrorless cameras that has or can be used with the Sony E Mount, both lenses feature a sleek but compact design which makes it easy to store away when not in use. Meanwhile, its dark exterior coating ensures that the light passing through the lens will not be scattered. On the other hand, their interior is made up of aspherical lenses which help reduce chromatic aberration in order to deliver image clarity from the centre to the corners of every image.

Both the Samyang 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC AF and the Samyang 50mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC AF lenses sport a 67mm filter diameter which can be used with lens filters of the same size. They are also compatible with phase detect and contrast detect sensors to deliver fast autofocus. This will help photographers maximize their shooting time and capture unplanned but interesting situations clearly whether via still images or video.

Unique Features of the Samyang 14mm f/2.8 AF and the 50mm f/1.4 AF

The Samyang 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC AF boasts the widest angle of view available in the camera lens market which makes it ideal for panoramic photography. Landscape photographers will also enjoy its f/1.4 aperture especially during low-light situations. With its lens composition of 14 elements in 10 groups plus its ability to deliver additional brightness, this Samyang autofocus lens is a perfect tool for capturing stunning cityscape and open land imagery.

Meanwhile, the Samyang 50mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC AF is made up of 9 lens elements in eight groups. It works best for portrait photography because of its fixed focal length which provides a shallow depth of field to highlight facial details. With the help of soft boxes, this lens can also provide wonderful circular catchlight in the eyes of the subject. Likewise, its circular aperture blades can be used to trigger impressive bokeh or out-of-focus effects.
