Nikon, Maxwell part ways as Nikon goes direct

We've been informed that the relationship between Nikon and incumbent Australian importer, Maxwell Optical Industries, will take a new turn at the end of the month, with Nikon taking a more direct route to it's distributors.

We are expecting a large shipment of stock to arrive before this happens, sufficient to cover all backorders, and hope that these changes will result in an improved flow of Nikon stock to Australia in the future.

For more information, please visit the Maxwell website.

I've had a 80-400VR lens in for repair to the autofocus since early August 2006 with still no progress.Maxwell claim Nikon are not supplying them with any spare parts until the take-over is complete so I have to wait."Wonderful" service from Nikon.  George Berios (20/10/2006 3:37:00 AM)

This split, though not yet complete, has so far been pretty uneventful. The Maxwell/Nikon stock situation is good, with the exception of the Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm DX VR, but this is due some time next week...but, have we heard that before?  Paul (13/10/2006 9:42:00 PM)
