Canon has announced some really exciting new products to their PowerShot Compact

Digital Camera Range. Their latest addition are the Canon PowerShot G16, S120, SX510 HS

and SX170 IS. Lets see these models in a bit more detail.

The new Canon PowerShot G16 (replacement for the Canon G15) features a super-bright f/1.8-2.8

genuine Canon lens, developed using highly refractive glass, alongside a unique and multiple

material coating, engineered to handle specific wavelengths of light at the nanometre scale.

Its 5x optical zoom provides incredible versatility, offering an f/1.8 aperture at its 28mm

wide-angle, and an f/2.8 aperture at its maximum 140mm focal length. This offers

photographers extra freedom to shoot in low light, using fast shutter speeds to freeze motion

even when using full optical zoom.

PowerShot G16 Key features:

The new Canon PowerShot S120 digital camera is the first S-series model, and the world’s slimmest camera, to feature

an f/1.8 lens[3]. The ultra-wide f/1.8, 24mm 5x optical zoom lens provides the flexibility to

capture a range of subjects. The lens delivers sharp results even in dark conditions thanks to

its wide aperture and the ultra-wide, f/1.8, 24mm 5x optical zoom which provides the flexibility to

capture a range of subjects. The 24mm ultra-wide-angle is ideal for capturing sweeping

scenes, while the versatility of the 5x zoom makes it easy to get closer to subjects, and

combined with the flexible aperture range, provides an ideal feature set for capturing a wide

range of shooting scenarios.

Canon PowerShot S120 Key features:

Canon PowerShot SX510 HS Camera

Offering greater flexibility to capture a range of subjects, the Canon PowerShot SX510 HS’

powerful 30x optical zoom lens delivers sharp results throughout the zoom range, even

in low-light conditions, whilst the 24mm ultra-wide-angle lens is perfect for capturing

anything from sweeping landscapes to group shots of friends. The SX510 HS uses the HS System,

which combines a 12.1 Megapixel high-sensitivity CMOS sensor with a DIGIC 4 processor to capture the true

ambience of low-light scenes at times like dusk, while maintaining the realism of colours and rich detail,

with minimum blur.

Canon PowerShot SX510 HS – Key features:

Compact and easy-to-use, the Canon PowerShot SX170 IS compact zoom camera boasts a versatile lens,

with a 28mm wide-angle and 16x optical zoom. The lens enables users to snap a wide variety of scenarios,

from group shots at parties, to close-ups of animals on safari. Vivid colours and striking

detail can alsobe captured with the PowerShot SX170 IS’s powerful 16 megapixel sensor creating images

that consumers will be proud of. The SX170 IS is also capable of capturing special moments

in high-quality HD movie footage.
