Latest Canon cameras

Canon have announced their new range of cameras, due for launch in September this year:

Canon EOS 40D
We reported this some time ago following an accidental release via the Canon HK website, but this time it's real.

  • 10.1 megapixel resolution

  • 9-point AF system
  • Compact flash memory

Canon have also announced two new lenses, which we expect to form their standard twin-lens kit for this camera. These are the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS and the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS. This will bring the Canon entry-level SLR back in line with the Pentax K10D, K100D Super and Sony Alpha 100 as offering image stabilisation as standard.
