Canon PowerShot SX1 IS, SX10 IS and G10 digital cameras

The third round of product announcements from Canon today is in the PowerShot range with the additions of the SX1 IS, SX10 IS and G10.

According to Canon's press release:

New Additions to Canon’s PowerShot SX and G Series Challenge Digital Compact Camera Boundaries
Canon’s Super Zoom SX series introduces the PowerShot SX10 IS and the flagship SX1 IS. A first for Canon digital compact cameras, the two models both feature an impressive 20x Wide Zoom Lens with Optical Image Stabilizer along with Canon’s
newly developed DiG!C 4 Image Processor. Another milestone for Canon is the inclusion of a CMOS sensor with Full HD movie recording in the SX1 IS, ensuring highly detailed images and High Definition movies.

The new Canon PowerShot G10 incorporates the long awaited 28mm wide angle, 5x Optical Zoom lens, RAW recording, DiG!C 4 and full manual controls making it an ideal companion for Digital SLR users seeking a digital compact camera.

The SX10 IS and SX1 IS models will both feature 10 megapixel resolution sensors, a 20x optical zoom (28-560mm equivalent) and the new DiG!C 4 processor.

The SX1 IS also includes HD movie recording (1920 x 1080 @ 30fps) and a 2.8 inch LCD screen. The SX10 IS has a slightly smaller 2.5 inch LCD screen, replacing the popular PowerShot S5 IS.

The G10 has a 14.7 megapixel resolution sensor. The lens offers 5x optical zoom (28-140mm) and a 3 inch LCD screen. It is the only one of the 3 cameras to offer RAW mode shooting, as has become the 'G' series trademark.

The SX10 IS and G10 will be available from late October; the SX1 IS is expected late November. Pricing on all models is TBC.
