Canon have announced a new digital SLR for their range, the EOS 500D. Sitting just above their 450D camera, the main new feature of the 500D is the inclusion of high-definition (HD) movie recording. Main features include:
- 15.1 mexapixel CMOS Sensor (1.6x)
- DiG!C 4 Image Processor
- Full HD Movie Recording
- Live View (with Face Detection)
- 3” LCD (high resolution)
- 100-3200 ISO (H1:6400, H2:12800)
- EOS Integrated Cleaning System
Since it's launch, the Nikon D90 has stolen the limelight based primarily on the HD movie feature, so we expect the 500D to be a welcome addition to the range for Canon enthusiasts.

- Twin IS kit (with 18-55mm and 55-250mm image stabilised lenses)
- Premium kit (with 18-200mm image stabilised lens)
- Enthusiast kit (with 17-85mm image stabilised lens)
Pricing on all option is currentl TBC. We'll let you know when we get more info.
