Consumate Image Quality

The optical construction features the best of Tamron technologies and shows a generous arrangement of special glass materials which include four LD (Low Dispersion) and three GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements. The combination of elements effectively eliminates the effects of chromatic aberrations and other optical aberrations to the greatest possible extent. The result is nothing but ultra-high image quality. Now photographers can capture dramatic images of their subjects against large and gorgeous background bokeh. 

Next-generation BBAR-G2 Coating

Special measures are put in place to maximize the optical performance as well as the ultra-high image quality of the lens. This is great to prevent ghosting and flare. Tamron developed the BBAR-G2 Coating as part of the continued research of their coating technologies that they have improved and developed over the years. The AF drive is equipped with Tamron's built-in USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive). The technology allows an autofocusing system with great speed, precision and quiet operation. And aside from the Dynamic Rolling-cam mechanism that has been developed specifically for this lens, Tamron has been able to minimize the drive load placed on its focus lens component. This guarantees stable AF operating performance and improved reliability even under the harshest shooting conditions.

Highly Durable Fluorine Coating

The Fluorine Coating used on the front surface of the lens element is based on a newly developed fluorine compound that has high water-and-oil-repellent properties. This makes it easier to wipe clean the lens surface and makes it less vulnerable to dust, dirt, moisture, and fingerprints, protecting your lenses on a long-term basis. 

Moisture Resistant

Seals can be found at the lens mount area and other critical locations to keep it from being infiltrated by moisture and/or rain, and provide Moisture-Resistant Construction. It affords the lens an additional layer of protection when shooting outdoors under severe weather conditions. 

Compatible with TAMRON TAP-in Console

Although an optional accessory, this product provides a USB connection to a personal computer. This allows users to update the lens' firmware easily and customize features like fine adjustments to the AF. 

Locking Lens Hood
