Enhanced Close-Focusing Capability

This fixed focal lens can focus very close. The MOD or Minimum Object Distance for the 35mm is 0.15m or 5.9 inches. Its maximum magnification ratio is 1:2. This allows photographers to come up with compositions that emphasize perspective which is unique to wide-angle lenses.

Compact and Lightweight

Weighing just 210g (7.4 oz), the lens is exceptionally light. This allows users to enjoy comfortable shooting without hesitation about carrying the lens around. A testament to its compactness is it’s featuring the same 67mm filter diameter just like Tamron's zoom lenses for its full-frame mirrorless cameras. This reduces cost and packing space efficiently. Consistent Overall Length

The Tamron 35mm along with the 20mm and 24mm lenses all have the same length of 64mm (2.5in). Optional manual focusing is also made easier since the focus ring is positioned toward the front of the lens. This makes it easy for your thumb and index finger to maneuver.  

Silent Autofocus

OSD (Optimized Silent Drive) is employed for quiet operation. Compared with conventional AF types having built-in DC motors, Tamron has greatly reduced the drive noise and significantly improved AF speed and performance. Lower ambient noise levels mean less distraction and better shooting performance for its users. 

Moisture-Resistant Construction

Infiltration of moisture is prevented by putting environmental seals at the lens mount area and other vital locations, thus giving it a Moisture-Resistant Construction. This gives an additional layer of protection when working outdoors or under poor weather conditions. The lens element's front surface is also coated with a protective fluorine compound with excellent oil and water repellent qualities. This makes the surface easier to clean and less vulnerable to the damaging effects of moisture, dirt, or oily fingerprints.
