The Optio RZ18 minimizes annoying camera shake during still-image shooting by combining the CCD-shift-type SR (Shake Reduction) system with the advanced Digital SR mode. That's why you are assured of beautiful, blur-free images even under shake-prone conditions, such as when shooting in the telephoto range or photographing a landscape at dusk.

The Optio RZ18 captures beautiful, HDTV-quality movie clips.

Note: when the Optio RZ18's AV output terminal is used, movie clips are output as standard NTSC/PAL data. The data must be transferred to a PC for the playback of movie clips at high-definition-TV proportions (1280 x 720 pixels).

Thanks to the combination of approximately 16.0 effective megapixels, a high-performance smc PENTAX zoom lens and the state-of-the-art image processing system - a system that uses the latest super-resolution technology to optimize image quality through meticulous section-by-section treatment of the captured image - the Optio RZ18 delivers well-defined, high-quality images with extra-fine resolution. Even in the auto sensitivity control mode, the Optio RZ18 lets you set the top and bottom sensitivities at will.

The Optio RZ18's high-resolution 3.0-inch LCD monitor with approximately 460,000 dots provides a clear view of images and menus on the screen to facilitate image previews and menu settings.

The Optio RZ18's user-friendly Auto Picture mode automatically selects one of 16 scene modes for a given scene or subject for effortless point-and-shoot photography.
