The brand new ultra-slim design features a new streamlined body with a lens-protecting faceplate that instantly turns on the camera when it slides to reveal the lens. This is combined with a sleek, flush-finished keypad, the Mju 1040 is the perfect camera when capturing the moment in style whilst out on the town.

Taking great shots in the heat of the moment has never been easier with Intelligent Auto Function (iAuto). Simply by pressing the "Function" button and setting the Mju 1040 to "iAuto," the camera automatically analyses the scene, and then applies optimum settings to help assure beautiful results. With iAuto, the camera will automatically apply one of the five most commonly used scene modes - Portait, Landscape, Night Scene, Macro and Sports mode - which means worry free shooting in for those using the camera in any situation.
In additon to Intelligent Auto Mode, the Mju 1040 features Olympus renowned Face Detect & Shadow Adjust technologies that recognises up to 16 individual faces. While ensuring the faces of your friends are in focus, Face Detect & Shadow Adjust also balances exposure values to ensure both the foreground and background elements are properly exposed. So when shooting in bright situations outdoors, or with a window behind your subject, Face Detect & Shadow Adjust helps assure stunning results every time.
